The best are fresh, young leaves, so we should collect nettle shoots in April and May (before flowering). This is when it contains the most nutritional value. Collect the nettle in protective gloves – it is best to cut the shoots with scissors and place them in a wicker basket (never in a plastic bag).

Remember to always collect nettles in trusted, ecological places, away from pollution, roads and farmlands, where chemical fertilizers and spraying are used.

Make nettle tea

Nettle tea is a drink that will cleanse and strengthen the body. Make an infusion of dried nettle leaves (about 2 tablespoons are poured with hot water). We can drink 2-3 cups of tea a day.

You can also wash your face with a cotton ball soaked in nettle infusion – the skin will be cleansed and nourished. Nettle tea is also an excellent antibacterial mouthwash.

How to dry nettle?

For teas, we collect only the top 4 parts of the nettle leaves. The plant should be rinsed with water and dried, the shoots are placed, for example, on a paper towel. Store in a dry place. Well-dried nettle should still be green in color.

Nettle smoothie.

Fresh nettle leaves can be used for a spring smoothie. Blend a handful of fresh nettle leaves with banana, kiwi and orange. This is a real vitamin bomb and a dose of energy for the body!

Nettle juice.

We will need about a kilogram of nettle leaves, they need to be washed thoroughly, chopped finely and squeezed through the juicer. You can also squeeze out the juice using gauze. It is recommended to carry out a 2-week treatment, drink a tablespoon of juice every day. Attention! We store the juice in the refrigerator for a maximum of 4-5 days.
