The white mulberry is a plant that reaches 10 meters in height. Its edible fruits are used in folk medicine as an antipyretic, diuretic and lactation stimulant. In turn, mulberry leaves are recommended for diabetics because they have a hypoglycemic effect, i.e. they lower blood glucose levels.
White mulberry leaves contain the following substances: thiamine (B1), riboflavin (B2), pyridoxine (B6), nicotinic acid (vitamin PP) and palmitic and fumaric acids.

In addition, white mulberry leaves contain sterols (β – sitosterol) and acids (palmitic, fumaric). A certain content of other medicinal substances was also found, such as: eugenol, phenol, guaiacol, methyl salicylate.

White mulberry – according to the literature, white mulberry leaves have properties that were used to alleviate the following ailments:

 

  • lowers the concentration of glucose in blood serum,
  • supports weight loss
  • lowers cholesterol and triglyceride levels,
  • reduces cravings and excessive appetite,
  • recommended for breastfeeding women because it stimulates lactation,
  • helpful in the treatment of diabetes because it has antihyperglycemic effects,
  • prevents the formation of dark spots on the skin

A METHOD OF PREPARING:

White mulberry tea: 2 flat teaspoons of white mulberry leaves, pour a glass of boiling water, cover and infuse for about 10 minutes. Drink before a meal.
