Rowan – according to the literature, rowan berries have properties that were used to alleviate the following ailments:

- decoction of rowan berries for gargling with hoarseness,
- rowan fruit extract is a diuretic, fecal loosening agent, anti-rheumatic and anti-calculitic agent,
- recommended for the prevention of urolithiasis, diabetes, rheumatism, metabolic disorders and arthritis,
- increases uric acid excretion,
- prevents hypovitaminosis C,
- stimulates metabolism,
- fruits stimulate intestinal function, have anti-inflammatory effects on the mucous membranes of the stomach and intestines, and soothe liver irritation.
A METHOD OF PREPARING:
Fruit decoction – pour 1-2 tablespoons of crushed fruit with 250 ml of water, boil for 5 minutes, set aside for 30 minutes, strain. The decoction should be drunk 250 ml 1-4 times a day, preferably with natural honey or fruit juice. Recommended for fever, especially with raspberry and simultaneous administration of salicylates or salicylic herbs. The decoction can also be used for skin care and for making eye compresses.
Rowan infusion – Pour a tablespoon of crushed rowan berries with a glass of lukewarm water, cook until boiling and keep on heat for 5 minutes covered. Set aside for 15 minutes, then strain. The decoction should be drunk half a glass 2-3 times a day as an antidiarrheal and diuretic.
Rowan extract – crush 100 g of flowers or fruit and pour 500 ml of 40-60% alcohol or rum. Etch for at least 14 days. You can add clear honey and spices. Take one glass once a day for 2 weeks. Use this treatment every 2-3 months. Helpful in the treatment of coronary heart disease, prostatic hypertrophy, peripheral circulation disorders, to accelerate metabolism and strengthen. In the treatment of edema (water dropsy), a 1:3 extract and rowan wine are recommended, because then you need to take diuretics and at the same time limit your fluid intake (hence infusions and decoctions are not always recommended, unless you use concentrated water extracts – then taken in small doses). quantities).
