Rowan – according to the literature, rowan berries have properties that were used to alleviate the following ailments:
- helpful in liver and kidney problems as well as in the treatment of dropsy (edema),
- as a diuretic and useful in mild gastrointestinal catarrhs,
- decoction of rowan berries for gargling with hoarseness,
- rowan fruit extract is a diuretic, fecal loosening agent, anti-rheumatic and anti-calculitic agent,
- recommended for the prevention of urolithiasis, diabetes, rheumatism, metabolic disorders and arthritis,
- increases uric acid excretion,
- prevents hypovitaminosis C,
- stimulates metabolism,
- fruits stimulate intestinal function, have anti-inflammatory effects on the mucous membranes of the stomach and intestines, and soothe liver irritation.
