Lovage – according to the literature, lovage root has properties that were used to alleviate the following ailments:
- has a diuretic effect,
- cleanses the body of toxins,
- relieves flatulence, indigestion,
- reduces excessive fermentation in the intestines,
- has choleretic properties,
- has a carminative effect,
- relaxes muscles and reduces menstrual pain.
A METHOD OF PREPARING:
Expectorant drink with lovage – 5 g of lovage and 20 g of fennel pour 500 ml of wine and leave for 2-3 days, then strain the wine. We drink the tincture after a meal.Lovage tea – pour 1 cup of cold water over 1 teaspoon of dried lovage root. Bring to a boil and strain immediately. Drink 2 cups of decoction a day.Lovage infusion – It is best to pour an appropriate portion of the root with a small amount of boiled water overnight, heat it up in the morning and keep it covered to infuse it and drink small amounts. You can sweeten it with either honey or sugar, a tablespoon per glass of water. Drink this infusion up to three glasses a day.Spice – lovage root has a characteristic bittersweet taste. It is most often used as a seasoning for soups and meat sauces.
