Turmeric – According to the literature, turmeric has properties that have been used to alleviate the following ailments:
- curcumin is a strong antioxidant, so it protects the body against the effects of free radicals, which damage cells, accelerate the aging process and increase the risk of developing cancer,
- curcumin also acts as a natural antibiotic – it has antibacterial, but also antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties,
- has a positive effect on the nervous system,
- tumerone (one of the essential oils) present in turmeric accelerates repair processes in the brain (e.g. after a stroke), this compound stimulates neural stem cells to multiply and differentiate,
- eating dishes with turmeric improves mental abilities, curcumin stimulates the body to destroy proteins responsible for Alzheimer’s disease,
- essential oils contained in turmeric rhizome prevent flatulence, belching, and have a carminative effect,
- turmeric has anti-ulcer properties,
- inhibits the secretion of gastric juice,
- supports liver function,
- stimulates the secretion of bile, necessary for the digestion of fats,
- supports the body in destroying many pathogenic bacteria, viruses and fungi,
- protects the body against infection.

A METHOD OF PREPARING:
The absorption of turmeric increases in the presence of pepper and paprika (by several thousand times). So wherever we use turmeric, we should also use at least one of these spices or a pinch of chili.

Turmeric sauce – mix 1/4 teaspoon of powder with 1/2 tablespoon of olive oil and a pinch of pepper. It is a good sauce for fresh salads and soups.

How to store herbs:
