Peppermint is a plant with a strong scent. In traditional medicine, mint leaves and peppermint oil are used as medicinal raw materials. Peppermint leaves contain essential oil, tannins and flavonoids that have a positive effect on health, including rutin, luteolin, hesperidin, and phenolic acids.

Peppermint – according to the literature, the peppermint herb has properties that have been used to alleviate the following ailments:

 

  • has a stimulating effect on the nervous system and increases the secretory activity of the stomach and liver,
  • stimulates the secretion of gastric juice and bile in the liver, facilitates digestion, stimulates appetite,
  • reduces the tension of smooth muscles of the intestines and bile ducts, enables proper passage of intestinal contents and prevents bile stasis in the gallbladder,
  • has a carminative effect, facilitating the passage of gases and reducing flatulence, has an antispasmodic and antiseptic effect in general and in the intestines in particular, destroying Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms,
  • has a calming effect, lowers blood pressure slightly,
  • slightly stimulates sex drive,
  • reduces milk secretion,
  • anesthetizes, weakens intestinal pain,
  • at high doses it limits and inhibits drowsiness.

A METHOD OF PREPARING:

Infusion – pour 1 teaspoon of crushed dry leaves with 1 cup of boiling water, brew covered for 15-20 minutes, strain, if necessary, drink 2/3 cup 3 times a day.

Externally, mint leaves are used as compresses for headaches, for refreshing baths, and the oil is used for rubbing the forehead and temples, for migraine and jaw neuralgia, and due to tooth decay.

Mint tea, taken every morning and evening after a cup, strengthens digestion and has a great effect on the general condition, improving, in a short time, the appearance and complexion.
